Kennesaw State women’s golf senior Ket Preamchuen has been named the next recipient of the Owls of Excellence Award, a first-year honor instituted this fall by the Department of Athletics.
The Owls of Excellence Award was formed to recognize Kennesaw State student-athletes who excel in their chosen sport, in the classroom, and provide service to the community. A different student-athlete will be honored and featured monthly on the Department of Athletics’ website, KSUOwls.com.
Preamchuen, a four-year member of the women’s golf team, is the ideal representation of a student-athlete. The sport management major excels in the classroom, maintaining a 3.8 cumulative GPA, and was a member of the Atlantic Sun Academic All Conference Team in 2012.
The team MVP has played in every tournament since joining the team, and has the lowest recorded stroke average for the Owls for the past three seasons. In 2012, she led the team to its first A-Sun Championship and NCAA Championship appearance in school history.
The Bangkhla, Thailand native is also a member of the International Student Association where she volunteers for various community service activities. She most recently volunteered during the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics.
