10/19/2009 8:41:12 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men’s cross country team is ranked 12th in the NCAA South Region for the fourth consecutive week in the weekly poll released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

Stan Sims’ Owls remained in the same spot in the rankings after a week without a race. They last competed at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Orlando on October 10, when Scott Burley and Nabil Hamid finished second and third, respectively, to lead the Black and Gold to their third victory of 2009.

Kennesaw State will host the KSU Owl Invitational on Friday, October 23, at Noonday Park in Kennesaw. The meet, which will feature five teams, including Atlantic Sun Conference rivals Mercer and Lipscomb, will be their final competition before the A-Sun Championship in DeLand, Fla. takes place on October 31. The men are slated to begin their race on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
