KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, WGKA 920am and Salem Media have announced a new partnership for the 2009-10 men’s basketball season.

Mike Moran, General Manager of Intelligent Talk WGKA, disclosed the broadcast arrangement saying, “the opportunity for WGKA to be involved with one of Georgia’s largest universities and a basketball team that will contend for the Atlantic Sun Conference championship is exciting. We are enthusiastic about our partnership with Kennesaw State University. WGKA has made a commitment to be involved in the community and what better way to be involved then to partner with a local university.”

All of Kennesaw State’s 31 regular season games and all postseason games involving the Owls will be available on radio and will also be available online on WGKA’s website. The station’s first broadcast will be on Friday evening, Nov. 13 when they Owls host North Greenville in the season opener at 7:30 p.m. from the KSU Convocation Center.

KSU Athletic Director, Dr. Dave Waples noted, “our growing fan base throughout the greater northwest Atlanta area plus the more than 23,000 undergraduate students and faculty will be well served by WGKA’s strong following. This new partnership will be a tremendous asset for the entire University.”

Head coach Tony Ingle, who led the Owls to a NCAA Division II National Championship remarked, “It is truly exciting to have 920 be a part of our Fighting Owl family. Recently graduating to Division I, Kennesaw State has becoming a big player academically and athletically in our state.”

Longtime Kennesaw State University sportscaster Craig Corbin will be back this season to handle the play-by-play broadcast along with former Owls star and color analyst Scott Webb.
