MARIETTA, Ga. - With their fall season over, the Kennesaw State women’s golf team made good use of their time by giving back to the community, spending a few hours of their day at the James T. Anderson Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

"The Anderson Boys and Girls Club provides an invaluable resource to the families of Cobb and the surrounding counties," Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "The resources that are available to the children in the after school programs are wonderful and all the children were so well mannered."

The Owls received the opportunity to offer a helping hand to the club’s after school program, leading the children in stretches and warm-up drills before joining them in various sporting activities including football and kickball.

"The team really enjoyed the time we spent at the club and the positive response we received from the kids," Brinsmead said. "It is very important to me that my team takes the time to give back to the community that is so supportive of Kennesaw State University and the athletics program."

The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, a private, not for profit organization has been in existence since 1935. The organization strives to improve and enrich the lives of metro Atlanta youth, particularly those from disadvantaged families or backgrounds. Last year alone, the BGCMA reached out to more than 17,000 young people.
