KENNESAW, Ga. – Head Coach Jay Moseley and his Kennesaw State men’s golf team got back on the links last week as they began practice in preparation for the upcoming spring season.

Kennesaw State’s first-year head coach has raised the fortunes of the Owls in his brief time at the helm of the Black and Gold. The fall season saw Kennesaw State finish in the top 10 in all four events while garnering a pair top 5 finishes, placing third at the Rees Jones Invitational and fifth at the Sam Hall Invitational.

“We have had some time off to reflect on the fall season and now everyone is back and excited for the spring season,” said Moseley. “The guys were a little rusty, and they would be the first to admit that, but normally December and early January is a rough time. Now, we’re back and the weather has been good so we’ve been able to get some good practice and play time in.”

“Our first event is four weeks away and we are going to be preparing for that with qualifying,” added Moseley. “Just in the last week or so we have improved and gotten better and we’ll be playing a lot before we head to Mobile.”

The Owls open up the spring season on Feb. 21 when they play in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Alabama. The Black and Gold will play in six events prior to hosting the Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Golf Championship on April 19 at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.

“We have a great schedule and the guys are excited about that,’ commented Moseley. “In addition, to have conference on a course close to home is an added plus. We really have good feelings about the spring and expect to do well and hopefully take Kennesaw State to its first regional championship.”
