KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's basketball teams have qualified for the Atlantic
Sun Conference Championships in their first year of eligibility after completing the NCAA’s mandatory four-year Division I re-classification period, and will now look to win their way into the NCAA National Tournaments with three wins at the A-Sun Championships this week in Macon, Ga.
Both championships will be held at Mercer University, beginning
this Wednesday, March 3 and concluding on Sunday, March 7, with the winner of both the men's and women's championships receiving an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Tournament.
The Owls are the men's No. 8 seed and will be taking on top-seed Lipscomb on
Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The two teams split a pair of games during the regular season with each team winning on its home court. Should the Owls advance, they will take on the winner of No. 4 Campbell and No. 5 East Tennessee State on
Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Owls earned the No. 5 seed and will take on the No. 4 seeded Belmont Bruins on
Thursday at 12:00 p.m. The Lady Owls are coming off a, 57-56, win over the Bruins on
Saturday, with the teams splitting their two-game series during the regular season. If the Lady Owls advance, they will take on the winner of No. 1 seed East Tennessee and No. 8 Stetson on
Friday at noon.
