KENNESAW, Ga. - Men's tennis assistant coach Jacob Turner has announced that he will depart the Owls program effective July 1, after being named the head coach at nearby Young Harris College. Turner, who has served for three years with the tennis programs as a volunteer and a graduate student coach, will help lead the Young Harris men's team into their first season of NCAA Division II competition.
"This is such a great opportunity for Jacob and his family," indicated KSU head coach T.J. Greggs. "He and his wife, Kim, are both very excited to get the opportunity to become a part of the Young Harris family, and we wish him the best of luck in his new role. He has worked very hard and deserves this opportunity."
Turner, who finished his undergraduate work at KSU in spring 2009, will be concurrently attending Georgia Southern University while coaching at Young Harris. He has completed one year of graduate studies at KSU. Young Harris College, located in northern Georgia about two hours from KSU, is making the transition from the junior college ranks to NCAA Division II. He will begin his tenure at the helm of the program on July 1, 2010.
