MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State men’s golfer Ben Greene was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. Greene finished a perfect 4-0 at The Match Play at TPC of Tampa Bay, to help lead the Owls to their third title of the season.
In first round action, Greene defeated Jason Clatworthy of Charleston Southern 4&3. In the second round Greene defeated Mitch Gray of Campbell 5&3. In round three, Greene defeated Matt Haase of Marquette 3&1 and in the championship round against Ball State, Greene defeated Tony Lazzara 5&4.
Greene was one of only four out of an 80-competitor field to go 4-0 for the tournament.
Greene holds a 74.9 average in 11 rounds for the Black and Gold this season. Participating in all five events for head coach Jay Moseley, Greene has been a big contributor in the Owls success.
This is Greene’s first A-Sun GOTW award.
