TAMPA, Fla. – Sophomore
Virginie Stein posted two wins in the singles main draw consolation to advance to the consolation quarterfinals Saturday on the campus of South Florida.
Stein tallied a 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 win against Natasha Prokhenska of Georgia Tech, followed by a 6-0, 6-0 victory over FAMU’s Alexis Dean. She will now play Miami’s Brittany Dubins on Saturday at 10 a.m., for a chance to advance to the consolation semifinals.
Junior
Alexandra Apostu and Stein fell in their second round main draw doubles match, 8-4, to Florida State’s Borthwick and Segarelli to wrap doubles action for the pair.
