More Homecoming Information

KENNESAW, Ga. – As part of the Homecoming festivities and official opening of the 2012-13 Kennesaw State men’s and women’s basketball seasons, the Kennesaw State Department of Athletics will host “Flight Night” on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The day begins with the Owls volleyball team hosting Atlantic Sun Conference rival Mercer at 3 p.m. in the KSU Convocation Center and concludes with a fireworks extravaganza.

In between, the day will include a Homecoming parade, the debuts of the Kennesaw State dance and cheer teams, the unveiling of the new “Scrappy” mascot, the introduction of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and a concert featuring J-Dash and the Ying Yang Twins on the Campus Green.

Other highlights include three-point shooting and slam dunk contests, scrimmages by both basketball teams and a student taking a half-court shot for chance to win $1,000. At the end of “Flight Night”, the homecoming court will be announced along with the crowning of the king and queen.

The first 500 fans will receive a free Owls t-shirt and the first 200 students will receive an LED baton.

With the exception of the volleyball game ($6 adults/$3 children) all the events are free and open to the public.

Due to the fireworks show, the east parking deck will be closed on Saturday. For people planning on attending, parking will be available in the east parking lot or central parking deck. Please click on the campus map for directions.

The week gets underway on Friday when the soccer team hosts North Florida at KSU Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. The Owls conclude the weekend by entertaining Jacksonville on Sunday in the annual Senior Day game beginning at 1 p.m.
