Women's Soccer Announces First Signee of 2012 Class

Owls will unveil the rest of the 2012 class later this spring

2/7/2012 10:48:00 AM

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women’s soccer team, and head coach Rob King, announced their first signee for its 2012 signing class as Danielle Gray signed her NLI on Tuesday afternoon.

Gray, who is a 5’8’’ defender from Peachtree City, Ga., brings size and aggressiveness to an already talented KSU backline that is returning three starters next season.

Coach King knows that this is an important first step in the completion of his 2012 class as he is adding a decorated high school player to his squad.

“I'm very pleased to announce Danielle Gray as the first of our 2012 Class”, King said. “Danielle was a key component on the 2011 State Champion McIntosh High School team, and she is an outstanding addition to our squad. She's such a versatile player, and could play a number of positions for the Owls this fall.”

Gray was the MVP of her high school team as a junior when they won the Georgia 4A state title. She was also instrumental in her club teams winning the North Atlanta Soccer Association Tournament, and the Sugar and Spice Tournament.

The Owls 2012 Class includes both transfer and international prospects and will be finalized with a further announcement later in the spring.
