MACON, Ga. – Senior Matt Nagy was named the Atlantic Sun Co-Golfer of the Week by the conference on Wednesday for his record-breaking performance at the Seminole Intercollegiate.

Nagy finished the intercollegiate with a fifth place finish after setting the Kennesaw State individual low round record and equaling the Southwood Golf Course record for his final round of 63, -8 on Sunday. His final round was played to near perfection as he tallied eight birdies and zero plus-par holes.

The Health and Physical Education major from Buena Vista, Ga., posted a 54-hole total of 73-71-63=207, -6 for his fourth top-15 finish of the season. Nagy also tied for ninth at the prestigious Jones Cup Invitational earlier this year, posting a three round score of 222, +6 at the Ocean Forest Golf Club.

“I knew I was running out of time here at KSU to set the record,” Nagy said. “After Jeff (Karlsson) tied the record with his opening round 65, I was motivated.”

The award is Nagy’s third career A-Sun Golfer of the Week award and his second of the 2011-12 season. He splits this award with North Florida’s Sean Dale who took first place at the General Hackler Championship.
