KENNESAW, Ga. – Part two of the Kennesaw State women’s soccer team’s 2012 signing class was announced by head coach
Rob King on Monday morning as Hannah Churchill and Kine Thorsvik signed their NLI’s.
The second segment of the 2012 signing class is made up of two internationals as Churchill is a 5’5’’ midfielder from Bristol, England, while Thorsvik is a 5’6’’ forward from Bergen, Norway.
Coach King believes that both of these player’s international playing experience and skills will translate very well to the
collegiate game.
“Hannah is a dominant central midfielder,” King said. “She has great touch, vision and passing ability. She plays her club soccer for Bristol Academy reserves. Hannah is a very composed player, she is comfortable playing in big games and will bring a winning mentality to the team."
“Kine plays as a forward or as an outside midfielder on either side of the field,” King said. “She plays her club soccer with Arna-Bjørnar, and has represented Norway at the Under-17 level. Kine has a lot of pace, is technical and has great vision.”
Churchill was a member of the England Colleges team that beat Estonia and Latvia. She scored from 25 yards out against Arsenal in the reserve cup national semifinal, and played against Everton in the reserve cup final. She was part of the teams that won the GFA cup final and the ECFA national finals as well.
Thorsvik played for the U-17 Norwegian national team in a double match against Finland. She was voted as the best player, and best female athlete, in Samnanger in 2009. She was also a member of teams that played in the semifinals of the Norway Cup and the Norwegian National Cup. She showed off her scoring ability by recording a hat trick against Klepp.
