KENNESAW, Ga. – With 2011-12 men’s basketball season officially in the books, the Kennesaw State Owls had several statistical accolades this season, headlined by junior Aaron Anderson’s Atlantic Sun Conference-leading 9.0 rebounds per game, which ranked him 47th in the nation in that category.

Anderson, who also averaged 8.9 points per game on his way to notching a league-high 11 double-doubles, also shot an Owls Division I program-record 54.2 percent from the floor, breaking the record of 52.4 percent that he set a year ago. It marked the second straight year that an Owl led the A-Sun in rebounding, as LaDaris Green turned the trick in 2010-11, with Anderson’s 9.0 boards per contest also being the program’s best mark at the Division I level.

Fellow junior Markeith Cummings, who led the A-Sun in scoring in 2010-11, picked up right where he left off this season, averaging 15.4 points per game to finish second in the league in that category.

Senior Spencer Dixon, who set a program-record with 124 career games played as an Owl, finished his final college basketball season as the leader in minutes per game with 37.0 per contest, a mark with ranked him 22nd in the nation. Freshman Delbert Love (36.5) and Cummings (34.8) were numbers two and four that category in the league. Dixon also made an average of 2.39 three-point field goals per game, which was 83rd best in the nation.

Love had a terrific all-around season for the Black and Gold on his way to earning A-Sun All-Freshman honors, leading all A-Sun freshmen in scoring with 12.4 points per game, while he was fourth in the A-Sun and 99th in the nation with 1.71 steals per game.

Anderson, Cummings and Love return to a squad that has already announced the impending arrivals of four highly-touted freshmen to Kennesaw this fall in Yonel Brown, Myles Hamilton, Jordan Montgomery and Brandon Williams.
