KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics, and Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams, has appointed Erin Kerr as the new Director of Athletic Development, the department announced.
Kerr, who comes to Kennesaw State from Wake Forest University, began in the newly-created post on April 5.
She will oversee the day-to-day operations of The Owls Fund, which serves as the annual fundraising program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics at Kennesaw State University. Kerr will also assist in strengthening athletic fundraising initiatives as a whole.
Prior to joining Kennesaw State, Kerr spent two years at Wake Forest University as Assistant Director of Athletics Development after graduating cum laude from Wake Forest in May of 2010, earning a degree in communication. Her main areas of responsibility at Wake Forest were assisting in the annual fund, capital projects and athletic endowment.
She was also a four-year member of the Varsity Dance Team and joined the Demon Deacon Cheer and Dance coaching staff in 2011.
“Erin brings a great deal of experience from other quality institutions, has been working in other fields externally and will be a great addition to the Kennesaw State Athletics Department,” Associate Athletics Director for Development Padraic McMeel said. “As we continue to grow the Owls Fund from the ground up, Erin will oversee the day-to-day operations and will be a fantastic addition to the team as we move forward.”
Prior to serving WFU Athletics, Kerr gained valuable industry experience by interning with ISP Sports (now IMG College), Octagon, Inc., and Fox Sports Network.
She is originally a native of Charlottesville, Va., and currently resides in Kennesaw, Ga.
