KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Track and Field Teams will use the Georgia Tech Invitational, May 11-12 as their last chance to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries.

Currently the Black and Gold have nine athletes pre-qualified for the NCAA Preliminaries and hope to add the ones on the bubble this weekend.

The Owls are coming off a trip to the historic Drake Relays where the team saw Kendall Parks set the school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.79. Parks’ time assures him of a trip to the NCAA Preliminaries, May 24 in Jacksonville, Fla., and currently has him ranked No. 51 in the world according to the International Association of Athletics Federations.

Brian Graham will join Parks in the 110m hurdles at the Georgia Tech Invitational, as Parks is also slated to run the 4x100m Relay with Sadio Diallo, Rasums Rooks and Jemir Martinez. Other men to compete at the Invitational will be Andre Dorsey and Greg Moxley in the high jump, along with Reggie Lewis who is scheduled to take part in the 100m and 200m dash.

For the women, A-Sun medalist Suzee Mills and Shannon Hooper will throw in the hammer throw. LaShanna Barchue will compete in the long jump, while Christie Leverette, the A-Sun Scholar of the Year and Rebekah Ropp will participate in the high jump.

The 4x100 team of Cynthia Davis, Kentrell White, Victoria Jackson and Latia Daniels are set to defend their title, as the same lineup set a school record of 46.08 in their first place efforts earlier this season at the George C. Griffin Track.

Brittany Robinson will look to improve her best time of 2:10.31 in the 800m she set at the Tiger Track Classic, whereas Naomi Mack will look to advance in the 100m hurdles and Michelle Quimby in the pole vault.

"This is an event that will do two things for our team, keep the ones qualified for NCAA Preliminaries tuned and performing at a high level, and give the ones who are on the cusp one last chance to get in," head coach Andy Eggerth said. "We are looking forward to big things this weekend and in the upcoming weeks."

NCAA Outdoor Championships- East Preliminary Rounds are scheduled for May 24-26 at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. A venue the Owls are very familiar with as both teams finished second earlier this season at the stadium in the 2012 A-Sun Championship.
