MEN'S SCHEDULE | WOMEN'S SCHEDULE

Kennesaw, Ga.
– The Kennesaw State University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams have officially released their outdoor schedule on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Director of Track and Field Andy Eggerth has put together a schedule that will have his team competing against the top competition around the country to be ready for the Atlantic Sun Championships and to start creating a legacy at the NCAA Championships.

"We're changing our mentality from one of trying to qualify for the National Championships to one of 'lets go and beat people at the National Championships'," Eggerth said. "All we need to accomplish that is believe."

To start the outdoor season, the team will take a small group out to Arizona State for the ASU Baldy Castillo Invitational on March 21-22 to take advantage of prestine weather and to earn NCAA qualifying marks right after the indoor season.

The following weekend the relay teams on the men's and women's side will head to the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas while all of the non-relay athletes will head to Rome, Ga. to compete in the Rome Rekortan Relays on March 28-29.

Next up, the team will head to Tampa, Fla. for spring break to take advantage of a rare opportunity to compete in a regular season scored meet at the South Florida Collegiate Invitational on April 3-4. The quad meet will feature University of South Florida, University of Minnesota, and the University of Cincinnati.

After the South Florida Collegiate Invitational, the combined eventers will head to Athens, Ga. for the Bulldog Heptathlon/Decathlon on April 11-12.

Continuing on the tough path, a select group will head to Los Angeles, Calif. for the Mt. SAC Relays on April 18-19.

"Lining up against the top athletes in the nation several times during the year gives us that opportunity to humanize the competition and realize that we can beat them," Eggerth said.

For those that don't compete in the Mt. SAC Relays, they will compete in the War Eagle Invitational on April 25-26.

The Owls will then head to Jacksonville, Fla. to try and defend the title at the Atlantic Sun Championships on May 16-17.

The NCAA Championships will be held in Eugene, Ore. on June 11-14.

"Our athletes have great goals for the A-Sun Championships, but we're setting our goals even higher trying to create a legacy at the National Championships, both individually and as a team," Eggerth said. "We're looking forward to an outstanding season, and I believe this competition schedule sets up for exactly that."

Beyond the NCAA Championships, several athletes will continue to train and compete at the U.S. Championships, European Championships, and other major meets around the world.
