KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team will be honored and presented with its 2012 Atlantic Sun Conference Championships rings during a halftime ceremony of the men’s basketball game against North Florida on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
Under A-Sun Coach of the Year
Scott Whitlock, Kennesaw State earned its second regular season title in program history after winning its first title in 2007. The Owls posted a 33-24 record in 2012, finishing in a tie with league rival Florida Gulf Coast with a 14-4 mark in the A-Sun final standings. KSU advanced to the A-sun Conference Tournament championship game, before falling to the Eagles.

Jessica Cross (Tunnel Hill, Ga./Ringgold HS) was named A-Sun Player of the Year, as well as First-Team All Atlantic Sun. Junior
Sharon Swanson (Canton, Ga./Cherokee HS), sophomore
Amanda Henderson (Covington, Ga./Eastside HS) and freshman
Kaylee Williams (Kennesaw, Ga./Kennesaw Mountain HS) joined Cross on the First-Team All Atlantic Sun team, while Williams also nabbed All-Freshman Team honors. Senior
Lindsay Vollmer (Scottsdale, Ariz./Paradise Valley CC) rounded out the Owls award winners, earning Second-Team All A-Sun accolades.
Kennesaw State opens the 2013 season with a five-game homestand, as KSU co-hosts the Georgia Tech-Kennesaw State Invitational at Bailey Park Feb. 8-10. The Owls welcome Missouri State on Friday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. ET in the season opener, followed by a 5 p.m., contest versus Coastal Carolina. The tournament also will include home games against Eastern Michigan and Butler.
Season tickets are now available for just $39 for all 24 home games, a savings of over $100. Single game tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for youth (ages three to 12) and $3 for groups of 10 or more, with advanced purchasing required for group tickets.
