MACON, Ga. - Senior
Peder Lunde Hermansson of the Kennesaw State men’s golf team was named Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Week on Wednesday for his performance at the Arizona Intercollegiate announced the conference office.
Hermansson led the Owls with a 54-hole score of 210, three-under-par, to propel him and the team to a seventh place finish. Hermansson outshined eight golfers ranked in the top-100 of the Golfstat.com rankings, as well as being one of only 10 golfers in the field to finish the tournament under-par on the par 71, 6,954 yard layout of the Golf Club at Vistoso.
The Arizona Intercollegiate consisted of 10 top-100 programs in the Golfstat.com rankings, including four top-25 teams, and two top-five teams in No. 1 California and No. 5 New Mexico. Of the 92 competing individuals, there were 12 ranked in the top 100.
Hermansson, a finance major from Gothenburg, Sweden has led the Owls in two of the last three events, both resulting in a top-seven finish. Over the last three tournaments Hermansson has led the team with a stroke average of 72.22, leading him to earn his first career Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Week award.
Kennesaw State will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 9 when the team travels to Gainesville, Fla., to participate in the Gator Invitational.
