A-SUN RELEASE

KENNESAW, Ga. – It was a week of firsts for the Kennesaw State men’s tennis program as sophomore Louis Theodor collected Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time in program history after leading the Owls to the program’s first-ever win over Mercer, 4-3, on Saturday.

“I am really excited for Louis and for our program to earn our first Player of the Week honor,” said Head Coach T.J. Greggs. “He showed a lot of heart out there this weekend against Mercer and thrived under the pressure of the situation.”

Theodor was instrumental in the Owls’ win against the Bears as the Jakarta, Indonesia native first teamed with freshman Tobi Menhofer to post an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles over Joao Pagan and Peter Tauchner.

With the match knotted at 3-3, Theodor then clinched the win for the Owls in thrilling fashion, posting a 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) victory over Arsav Mohanty on court four.

It was his second-straight win in both singles and doubles, and the team-leading eighth win for Menhofer and Theodor at No. 1 doubles.

Theodor and the Owls wrap up regular season play this weekend, as KSU hosts USC Upstate on Friday, April 12 at 2 p.m. (ET), followed by East Tennessee State on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Ga.
