KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State junior
Marla Ouzts (Elberton, Ga. / Elbert County HS) has been unanimously selected as a member of the Atlantic Sun Lacrosse All-Academic team, the conference announced on Tuesday, April 23.
Majoring in psychology, Ouzts has maintained a GPA of 3.4, and goes down in history as the first Owl to be honored for this achievement during the program’s inaugural season.
“Marla has a strong work ethic on and off the field,” Head Coach
Kristina Llanes said. “Her focus has helped our program, as well as herself, to maintain a solid academic foundation.”
Having started all 10 games for KSU this season, Ouzts is third best on the team in ground ball pick-ups (14), while adding two caused turnovers and three draw controls for the season.
The Kennesaw State lacrosse team continues action Friday, April 26, when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to compete in the first-ever A-Sun Conference Championships.
The Owls (1-9, 1-2) go into the tournament as the No. 4 seed, and will face the No. 1 seeded Jacksonville Dolphins (11-5 , 4-0) beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
