EUGENE, Ore. – The women’s 4x100m relay team of Cynthia Davis (Norcross, Ga./Norcross HS), Alicia Whittle (Douglasville, Ga./Harvester Christian Academy), Kentrell White (Conyers, Ga./Salem HS), and Hannah Wood (Carrolton, Ga./Mt. Zion HS) made history today (June 5) as they became the first representatives from the Kennesaw State women’s track and field team to compete at the NCAA Championship hosted by the University of Oregon.

“This is a great day in Kennesaw women’s history,” Head Coach Andy Eggerth said. “Not only did we have our first NCAA championship final round qualifiers, but they finished higher than they were ranked coming in, which earned them our first women’s All-American titles.”

The team posted its third best time of the season (44.93), placing 15th overall in a field of 24.

“What is more encouraging is the fact that it is clear we can do better next year, and score team points at the NCAA Championship,” Eggerth added. “Sometimes we just need to get here once to see and believe what is really possible.”

Up next, sophomore Andre Dorsey will represent the men’s squad when he competes in the triple jump on Saturday June 8 beginning at 12:30 p.m. (PT).

The Atlantic Sun Conference Championship Most Valuable Performer has the ability to break into the top-five at the meet, sitting twelfth overall in the nation, less than two feet behind the top mark.
