OFFICIAL RELEASE

KENNESAW, Ga. – With the 2014 campaign just weeks away, the Kennesaw State baseball team picked up three individual accolades as the Atlantic Sun Conference released its annual All-A-Sun Preseason team, it was announced on Wednesday.

Max Pentecost, Kal Simmons and Bo Way each earned a spot on the illustrious list after all three put up banner years in 2013.

"All three are well deserving of the recognition," Kennesaw State head coach Mike Sansing said. "They all had noteworthy years last season and I think it's a good representation of our team. I couldn't be happier for them and all three are set to have good years once again."

Junior catcher Pentecost, who was named the 2013 Collegiate Summer Player of the Year and was an All-A-Sun Team member from one year ago, hit .302 with a team high 14 doubles and three homeruns last season.

Freshman shortstop Simmons was named a Freshman All-American after his performance last season and was also the league's Freshman of the Year after hitting .289 with a .341 on base percentage.

Senior outfielder Way returns for his final season with the Owls after stringing together an impressive career. The speedy Way hit .313 in 2013 with a team best 41 runs scored and a .421 slugging percentage.

In the coaches' poll also released on Wednesday, KSU was selected to finish fifth out of the league's 10 teams, receiving 64 total votes.

The Owls have made it to the A-Sun Tournament Championship game the past two seasons and posted a 30-30 record in 2013.

KSU opens up the 2014 campaign at home in Stillwell Stadium on Feb. 14 with a three-game series against Middle Tennessee State.
