Brian Bohannon announced on Friday (Oct. 24).
Â
The Owls and Flyers will meet at Welcome Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 26. The addition of Dayton to the schedule replaces a previous game at Cumberland after both programs mutually agreed to terminate the contract.
Â
Dayton, which competes at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level, marks the Owls' first opponent from the Pioneer Football League.
Â
Kennesaw State, which will play at the FCS level, is currently going through its first year of practice and kicks off its inaugural season in 2015.
Â
The Owls are slated to open their first season at East Tennessee State on Sept. 3, 2015 in Johnson City, Tenn. Kennesaw State's first-ever home game is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2015 when it hosts Edward Waters at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Â
Season tickets are being requested at a rapid pace and the KSU Department of Athletics recently announced that it has received more than 3,500 requests for tickets out of approximately 3,600 available at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Â
The public had its first opportunity to see the Owls in action on Oct. 11 when a crowd of more than 4,200 came to Fifth Third Bank Stadium to watch the team scrimmage.
Â
Fans can begin the process of securing tickets by participating in the Letter of Intent (LOI) program. The LOI Program is a formal request that requires a $20 refundable deposit that enters individuals into the Priority Seating Program which uses points to fairly distribute priority when selecting seat locations among donors. All seats will be $99 for the season plus a donation to The Owls Fund.
Â
The seat location process is scheduled to begin on Feb. 1, 2015 and will include fans visiting Fifth Third Bank Stadium to select their seats based on their priority points standing.
Â
Kennesaw State, which will be an associate member of the Big South Conference, will play six home games during its inaugural season, including non-conference contests against Edward Waters (Sept. 12), Paine College (Sept. 19) and Point University (Oct. 10). The Owls also will host conference opponents Gardner-Webb (Oct. 17), Monmouth (Oct. 31) and Charleston Southern (Nov. 7).
Â
More information on the Priority Points Program is available at www.KennesawStateFootball.com. Fans can talk to a ticket representative and submit their LOI by calling the KSU Athletics Ticket Office at 470-578-OWLS (6957).
