MT: Kennesaw State's David Durham Named A-Sun Conference Player of the Week

Durham Becomes Second Owls Men's Tennis Player Honored With Weekly Award

KENNESAW, Ga. – Freshman David Durham (Alpharetta, Ga. / Milton HS) has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference men's tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday (Mar. 12).
 
Durham continued to make an impact on the Owls as he won both in his singles and doubles match during a 5-2 victory over Tennessee Tech on Sunday (Mar. 9). The Alpharetta native posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Jain Gagan at No. 5 singles and teamed with Alex Pena to record an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
 
Durham currently leads Kennesaw State with an 8-2 dual-match record while playing at the No. 4, 5 and 6 singles positions. He also has been part of six straight doubles match victories while playing at the No. 3 spot.
 
Durham is the second-ever Owls men's tennis player to be honored with the A-Sun Conference's weekly award, joining Louis Theodor who garnered the award in 2013.
 
Kennesaw State, currently 5-5 on the season, returns to action this weekend when it opens Atlantic Sun Conference play versus Northern Kentucky on Friday (Mar. 14) at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
