MT: Kennesaw State's Jorge Wilton Named to A-Sun Conference All-Academic Team

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State sophomore men's tennis player Jorge Wilton has been named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic team, it was announced on Tuesday (Apr. 15).
 
Wilton was one of eight individuals named to the all-academic team that recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.30 grade-point average or better and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's competitions and are of at least sophomore standing with one year of residency at their current institution.
 
A native of Ashtead, England, Wilton played primarily at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions. He also teamed with sophomore Maksim Yorsh  to post a 9-5 record at No. 1 doubles.
 
In the classroom, Wilton carries a 3.92 GPA while majoring in finance.
 
East Tennessee State had a conference-high three players named to academic all-conference team, with the Buccaneers' Ismael Merino being selected scholar-athlete of the year after accumulating a 3.90 GPA while majoring pre-business.
