MACON, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team was well-represented on the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference All-Conference team that was announced on Tuesday (Apr. 29).

Teremoana Beaucousin became the first Owl in program history to be named Freshman of the Year while also being selected to the all-freshman team. Junior Jimmy Beck, who leads KSU in stroke average, was voted first team all-conference, while junior Austin Vick was selected to the second team.

"I am very happy for Teremoana but not surprised to see him named Freshman of the Year," Kennesaw State head coach Jay Moseley said. "In my mind he was the best freshman in the conference by a wide margin, and it is the just reward for an outstanding season."

Beaucousin is in the midst of an outstanding freshman season in which he ranks second on the team with a 73.30 stroke average and recorded six top 10 showings, including a career-best tie for second at the A-Sun Conference Championships.

Beaucousin is the sixth consecutive Kennesaw State rookie to be selected to the A-Sun Conference's All-Freshman team.

Beck added another honor in a growing number of accolades to his resume as he was voted first team all-conference for the second year in a row. The Columbus, Ga., native leads the Owls with a 72.42 stroke average and has registered a team-high eight top 20 finishes, including five top 10 showings. His best finish of the season was a tie for first at The Farms Collegiate Invitational in February.

"Jimmy had a great year that was worthy of a Player of the Year nomination," Moseley said. "It is obvious that being named first team all-conference puts him in great company with a lot of other great players in our league."

Vick ranks third on the Kennesaw State team with a 73.53 stroke average and three top 10 showings. His best finish was a tie for second at the A-Sun Conference Championships.

"Austin had very good year and I appreciate the coaches taking note of that," Moseley said. "He has really played well down the stretch for us this spring, and I am happy to see him receive this type of recognition for the first time."

Mercer's Trey Rule, who led the Bears to the A-Sun Conference Championships team title a week ago, was named Player of the Year while his coach, Steve Bradley, was tabbed Coach of the Year. The all-conference teams and individual honors are voted on by the league coaches.

Kennesaw State is expected to receive an at-large bid to its fourth consecutive NCAA Division I Championships and fourth overall. The Owls will be seeking their second appearance in the finals after advancing to the 2011 championships and finishing 26th out of 30 teams.
