OFFICIAL RELEASE

KENNESAW, Ga. – The high-praise continues to roll in for Kennesaw State catcher Max Pentecost this week, this time by way of the Johnny Bench Award with the junior making the cut for the final 15, The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced on Thursday.

The accolade is handed out to the top collegiate catcher in the country and ballots will be sent to the national voting panel at the end of May for a vote to determine the three finalists. The finalists will be announced June 3, 2014. A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 17th Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on June 26, 2014.

Pentecost has put together one of the best offensive seasons in school history, hitting .421, putting him on pace to shatter the single-season KSU record, to go with his A-Sun leading 20 doubles, 53 RBIs and eight home runs.
