Official ReleaseNORMAN, Okla. – Kennesaw State junior
Jimmy Beck was one of 157 players across six regions to be named to a Division I PING all-region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), the organization announced on Thursday (May 22).
It marks the second consecutive year that Beck has been honored by the GCAA as he was one of 30 players selected to the Southeast Region team. He becomes the first two-time honoree and is one of three Kennesaw State players to be recognized, joining
Jeff Karlsson (2011) and
Matt Nagy (2012).
"It's a great honor. To be associated with all the players in that group is very humbling and I accept the honor," Beck said.
The Owls junior is currently enjoying his finest season as an Owl as he helped Kennesaw State advance to the NCAA Championships for the second time in program history. He enters the NCAA Championships with a 72.47 stroke while playing 36 rounds and has posted nine top 20 finishes, including five top 10s. His current stroke average ranks No. 4 on Kennesaw State's single-season list and his 73.22 career scoring average is No. 3 all time.
Earlier this year, Beck was named the Atlantic Sun Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and first team all-conference.
The NCAA Championships open on Friday (May 23) and continue through Wednesday, May (28) at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. All the action can be followed live at
