NORMAN, Okla. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team was once again recognized for its success in the class room as head coach Jay Moseley's squad received Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Team honors, it was announced on Wednesday (July 30).
Kennesaw State was one of just 11 Division I men's golf programs to receive President's Special Recognition for achieving a 3.5 grade-point average or above. A total of 81 Division I teams were recognized for recording a 3.0 or better GPA.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
"It is always an honor to be recognized for success in academics and I am so proud of the team," Moseley said. "They earned this recognition because it is important to them. To be among the top two to three percent of college golf teams in GPA in each of the last four years is a very humbling honor for our program."
Last week rising senior
Jimmy Beck and 2014 graduate
Jonathan Klotz were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the GCAA.
