KENNESAW, Ga. – Sophomore
Teremoana Beaucousin has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday (Sept. 24).
Beaucousin led Kennesaw State to a three-shot victory at the Rees Jones Invitational that was held Sept. 21-23 at the Haig Point Golf Club in Daufuskie Island, S.C. The second-year Owl finished third in the 11-team event after posting rounds of 67-77-71 for a 1-under total par of 215.
"I'm very happy with the way I played last week for the team and myself," Beaucousin said. "I am looking forward to the rest of the season."
After three tournaments this season, Beaucousin has posted a 71.33 scoring average in nine rounds and has recorded six rounds of par or better. He has also carded at least one round in the 60s in each of his tournaments played.
"It is a great to see the conference recognize Teremoana for his outstanding performance at the Rees Jones Invitational," head coach Jay Moseley said. "He played very well on a difficult golf course. It was very exciting to see so many of our guys near the top of the leaderboard and that provides a lot of confidence to our team."
The Golfer of the Week honor marks the second of Beaucousin's career.
Kennesaw State will have a two-week break before traveling to New Haven, Conn. to compete in the MacDonald Cup hosted by Yale beginning Oct. 4.
