NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes (PDF)
LOUSIVILLE, Ky. – Five members of the Kennesaw State softball team were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom by being named All-America Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association (NFCA) for the 2014-15 academic year, the organization recently announced.
Emily Bishop (3.80, exercise science),
Rachel Dennis (3.51, marketing),
Taylor Denton (3.66, integrative studies),
Kaci Giles (3.10, international business) and
Missy Perkowski (3.52, exercise science) were among a group of 1,554 Division I student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.
"We are very proud to see these five players recognized by the NFCA for their outstanding work in the classroom. They exemplify everything we want our players to be, true student-athletes," head coach
Tory Acheson said. "We are building a program that strives to reach a very high standard in the classroom and seeing these players achieve at this level should be strong motivation for their teammates to work to achieve similar success. We are very Owl Proud!"
