KENNESAW, Ga. – Sophomore Fredrik Nilehn has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday (Oct. 22). It marks his second career player of the week honor.

Nilehn finished second at the 12-team Pinetree Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday (Oct. 20) at the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw. The Owls sophomore, who entered the event as the defending champion, carded rounds of 72-69-71 for a 4-under par total of 212 to place one shot behind Lars van Meijel (211, -5) of Memphis.
 
Nilehn's performance helped Kennesaw State to a second-place finish, placing four-shots behind tournament winner Memphis (856, -8). The Owls recorded rounds of 298-276-286 for a 4-under par total of 860. Their second-round 12-under par 276 equaled the tournament record for low-18 hole team score set by the Owls in the first round of 2014.
 
Nilehn currently ranks second on the Owls with a 73.92 stroke while playing in all four tournaments. He is also tied with teammate Jake Fendt for number of rounds at par or better (3) and rounds under par (2).
 
Kennesaw State will close out its fall schedule beginning on Monday (Oct. 26) when it opens play at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate in Dallas, Texas.
