Teremoana Beaucousin BioKENNESAW, Ga. – Sophomore
Teremoana Beaucousin has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday (Mar. 25). It marks the fourth time in his career and third time during the 2014-15 season he has been honored.
Beaucousin led No. 25 Kennesaw State to a tie for third place at the 15-team Linger Longer Invitational that was held Mar. 21-22 at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation in Eatonton, Ga. The field included seven teams and 12 players ranked in Golfstat's Top 50.
The Papara, Tahiti native finished sixth after shooting rounds of 65-72-72 for a 7-under par 208 total. His opening-round 65 established a career-best score and helped the Owls to a par-72 18-hole school-record 15-under par 273.
Kennesaw State tied for third in the final team standings behind No. 3 Texas and No. 35 Georgia while tying No. 20 North Carolina. Beaucousin, ranked No. 35 by Golfstat, was tied for the lead after the first round and finished the tournament ahead of four higher-ranked players. The performance improved Beaucousin's season scoring average to a team-leading 70.40.
The Owls return to action on April 3 when they open play in the Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt at the Legends Club in Nashville, Tenn.
