MACON, Ga. – Junior
Jordan Hillyer earned Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time in as many weeks after his strong outing on the mound Friday evening against USC Upstate, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Hillyer followed a 13-strikeout performance a week ago with another masterful performance last Friday (March 27) evening. He opened conference play for the Owls as he allowed only two hits in a 5-0 shutout against USC Upstate. Hillyer fanned 11 batters with only one walk as he lowered his ERA to 1.85.
"I think he had a tremendous performance on the mound this weekend. He went nine strong and gave up just two hits," head coach
Mike Sansing said. "I give full credit to his work ethic and conditioning to be able to throw a complete game. We are excited for him to win this award."
