KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State University senior men's golf standout
Jimmy Beck highlighted the night at the Department of Athletics' annual Student-Athlete Banquet as the senior earned the prestigious Dr. Dave Waples Total Person Award on Sunday night.
The Total Person Award is given out to the upperclassman who exemplifies all of the qualities that are wanted in a Kennesaw State student-athlete, including athletic and academic achievement, character, leadership and community service.
Beck earned a 3.80 GPA majoring in finance during his time at KSU while becoming the first two time Atlantic Sun Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Columbus, Ga. native was also a 2014 Golf Coaches Association of America All-American (GCAA) Scholar.
Beck, who on Thursday (April 30), was a unanimous first team all-conference selection, is completing one of the finest careers in program history. He ranks second on the Owls with a 71.27 scoring average, has seven Top 20 finishes, six top 10s, and is coming off his best showing of the season after tying for second at the A-Sun Conference Championships.
The men's golf team wasn't done winning awards as
Teremoana Beaucousin was named Male Athlete of the Year after being named A-Sun Conference Player of the Year. He lead the Owls with a 71.14 stroke average, nine top 20 finishes, including five top 10s, and has been the team's top finisher five times. The second-year player has also produced 19 of 29 rounds at even par or better and recorded a team-high tying nine rounds in the 60s.

Natalie Rhodes from softball, earning the Female Student-Athlete of the Year title. She leads the softball team batting .399 and in runs scored with 43
The Iron Owl of the Year was presented to the student-athletes, one male and one female, who worked the hardest in the weight room. This year's honorees were
Taylor McGhee from lacrosse for the second straight year and
Rasmus Rooks from track and field.
On the flipside, the Wise Owl award, handed out to the hardest workers in the classroom, was presented to Beck from the men's golf team and
Virginie Stein from women's tennis, for their tremendous work academically.
The women's track and field team took home the hardware for winning the community service award, given to the team that completes the most community service throughout the academic year. Women's lacrosse brought home the Golden Cup Award, handed out to the team that attends the most athletic events during the year.
Daniel McKune from men's track and field and
Logan Viers from softball earned Game Face of the Year accolades after making the best game face during competition.
