KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State cross country runners
Simone Colombini and
Kidan Kidane earned Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week honors for their performances at the PowerAde Invitational, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
"Recognition as the Atlantic
Sun Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week for Simone and Lily reinforces how much effort they put into their workouts and how they are making positive changes in their running mechanics and mental thoughts," Cross Country Coach
David Poteet said. "Along with their efforts at team workouts, both raise their levels of running, as needed, for races. I know both will continue to improve throughout the season, as will our entire team."
Columbini grabbed a fourth place finish with a 5k time of 15:30.10 in the 6-team, 42-individual field, helping the Owls finish fourth as a team.
Kidane grabbed a fourth place finish with a two mile time of 11:05.16 in the 8-team, 61-individual field, helping the Owls finish fifth as a team.
Next up, the Owls will travel to Jacksonville Ala. on Saturday, October 3 to run in the JSU Foothills at 8:30 a.m.
