KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State senior third baseman
Kara Chambers has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday (Mar. 14). It marks her second career player of the week honor as she was previously recognized on March 9, 2015.
Chambers, a native of Kennesaw, was an offensive catalyst while helping the Owls to a 3-3 record, including a 3-1 mark at the Tennessee Tech Round Robin tournament, during the week. In six games, she led KSU with a .429 average (6-for-14) with four runs scored, a double, triple, four RBIs, and was 9-for-9 in stolen bases.

The Kennesaw State third baseman's highlight performance came during a 7-6 victory over East Tennessee State on Sunday as she went 1-for-2 with a triple, scored two runs scored, totaled four RBIs and had two stolen bases. Her four RBIs against ETSU and three stolen bases against Tennessee Tech on Saturday equaled career-highs.
Chambers' nine stolen bases increased her career total to 46 and moved her into sole possession of third place on Kennesaw State's all-time career stolen bases list. She is 16-for-17 in stolen base attempts this season and leads the Owls.
Kennesaw State will be back in action on Tuesday (Mar. 15) when in hosts Georgia State at Bailey Park beginning at 5 p.m. (ET).
