Andre Dorsey has won the Atlantic Sun Men's Field Athlete of the Week award for his performances at the Emory Invitational the conference announced Wednesday.
"It was nice to see Andre resume his career at a high level," Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Andy Eggerth said. "There are plenty of technical errors that we need to refine, but the speed and power are clearly there. Andre is healthy and ready to roll so there are great things in store!"
Dorsey, who missed all of the 2015 outdoor track season recovering from an injury, won both the long jump and the triple jump at the Emory Invitational. Running on short approaches, he won the long jump with a leap of 7.40m (24'3.5) which leads the A-Sun and is 17
th farthest in the NCAA so far this season. In the triple jump, he leaped 15.76m (51'8.5) which is second best in the NCAA currently and best in the A-Sun so far this season.
This is Dorsey's fourth A-Sun Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award and his first this season.
Dorsey and the Owls will compete at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on March 25-26 in Atlanta, Georgia.
