Allum, Denton Named NSCA All-Americans

The pair is being recognized for outstanding accomplishments as student-athletes

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Kennesaw State baseball player Taylor Allum and softball player Taylor Denton have been named All-American athletes by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

The awards recognize Allum's and Denton's athletic accomplishments and their dedication to strength and conditioning. The Owls were nomined by KSU's Drector of Sports Performance, Jeremy Gough.

"Taylor Allum epitomizes hard work and effort," said Gough. "From his first day here at Kennesaw State, he has been dedicated to improving himself on and off the field. No matter what the situation may be, whenever he arrives to the weight room he has the mindset and drive to better himself and his teammates. Taylor leads by example, always pushing for the best possible product and fully trusts the process."

"Whenever I think of true strength I think of Taylor Denton," said Gough. "She is an amazing individual who not only possesses physical strength, but also a very strong character. I can't think of a single day that Taylor has come to the weight room without a smile on her face and an attitude that exudes joy. Denton is a constant supporter of all she comes in contact with and wants the success of the masses not just herself. Despite any difficulties she may face, Taylor has always been an encouragement to those around her, myself included. I could not think of a more deserving person for this award."

About the National Strength & Conditioning Association
The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is an international nonprofit educational association founded in 1978. Evolving from a membership of 76, the association now serves nearly 30,000 members in 52 countries. Drawing upon its vast network of members, the NSCA develops and presents the most advanced information regarding strength training and conditioning practices, injury prevention, and research findings.
Unlike any other organization, the NSCA brings together a diverse group of professionals from the sport science, athletic, allied health, and fitness industries. These individuals are all in pursuit of achieving a common goal—the utilization of proper strength training and conditioning to improve athletic performance and fitness.

Central to its mission, the NSCA provides a bridge between the scientist in the laboratory and the practitioner in the field. By working to find practical applications for new research findings in the strength and conditioning field, the association fosters the development of strength training and conditioning as a discipline and as a profession.

Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the NSCA serves as a valuable resource for its members, the fitness industry, general public, and the media. The association provides a wide variety of resources and opportunities designed to strengthen, build, advance, and unify.
