KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer program will recognize five seniors prior to Saturday's match versus NJIT at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
Mady Carter,
Ashtah Das,
Ida Hepsoe,
Abby Roth and
Jessica Sexton are concluding productive careers in which they have helped Kennesaw State post 30 wins during the past four seasons.
"This is a special group of seniors. From the first day I stepped on campus these five were fully committed into doing whatever it took to try and improve this soccer program," head coach
Benji Walton said. "As a new coach, when inherited players believe in your vision, it's truly the greatest sign of respect a coach could ask for.
"This group gave me everything and more often than not pushed through adversity to try and make a positive impact on our soccer program," Walton added. "Their influence has already started the culture change here at KSU and will be a big reason for the success the Owls will enjoy in the future. I am proud of who they are as people, look forward to seeing who they become as individuals and wish them all the best in the future."
The following is a capsule on each senior.
Mady Carter (2014-17)
Goalkeeper – Conyers, Ga.
Mady Carter is a four-year member of the Kennesaw State women's soccer program. She is a three-time ASUN Conference Academic Honor Roll honoree. During her career, Carter has appeared in 19 matches, starting 17, and posted a 9-7-2 record, two shutouts and 1.34 goals-against average. A native of Conyers, Ga., Carter will earn a degree in integrative studies.
Ashtah Das (2014-17)
Forward – Kennesaw, Ga.
Ashtah Das is a four-year member of the Kennesaw State women's soccer program and three-time ASUN Conference All-Academic Honor Roll honoree. She has appeared in 55 matches, starting 39, and totaled 15 career points, scoring six goals and adding three assists. While starting a career-high 12 contests as a senior, Ashtah has totaled a personal-best 10 points (four goals, two assists) and contributed one game-winning goal. A native of Kennesaw, Ga., Das will earn a degree in mechanical engineering.
Ida Hepsoe (2014-17)
Forward – Malvik, Norway
During her four-year career at Kennesaw State,
Ida Hepsoe has been a three-time ASUN Conference Academic Honor roll honoree. A 2015 ASUN Conference Second Team selection, Hepsoe has recorded 19 career points, contributing four goals and adding 11 assists. During her senior campaign, Hepsoe has registered two game-winning goals. A native of Malvik, Norway, Hepsoe will earn a degree in psychology.
Abby Roth (2014-17)
Defender – Columbus, Ga.
Abby Roth has enjoyed a productive career during her four seasons as a member of the Kennesaw State women's soccer program. Starting 67 of 70 matches played, Roth has totaled 21 points. She has scored 10 goals, added one assist and produced four-game winning goals. Her list of honors include 2014 ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team and 2016 all-academic team and second team all-conference. She is also a two-time ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week honoree. A native of Columbus, Ga. and three- time ASUN Academic Honor Roll honoree, Roth will earn a degree in mathematics.
Jessica Sexton (2016-17)
Forward – Marietta, Ga.
A transfer from Rutgers prior to the 2016 season,
Jessica Sexton has appeared in 30 matches, starting 11, and totaled 11 points. She has scored four goals and contributed three assists. Sexton, who earned ASUN All-Academic Honor Roll recognition as a junior, will earn a degree in psychology.
