SCHEDULE
KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team has announced its 2018 schedule.
The Owls will play 17 games this season with nine of them being at home in Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
"I am pleased with our 2018 schedule," head coach
Laura Maness said. "We were able to get some teams that we have not competed against, which will be exciting and challenging. Highlighting our schedule includes a home opener against Arizona State and some tough away competition including Duke and Marquette. After having the best season in program history, we are looking forward to preparing our team to make great strides in conference play this year."
The opening weekend for the Owls features Arizona State and Vanderbilt on February 9 and 11.
KSU also has non-conference home games against Saint Francis, Winthrop and Quinnipiac.
On March 19, Kennesaw State will travel to Durham, North Carolina to take on the Duke Blue Devils for its final non-conference game of 2018.
ASUN play will be a little different this year as the ASUN and SoCon have split into two groups. The ASUN affiliate members to have access to a women's lacrosse championship, both conferences will be NCAA AQ eligible, and cross-over scheduling allows all teams to maintain a balanced home/away schedule coordinated to minimize missed class time and travel expense.
In Kennesaw State's group will be Jacksonville, Stetson, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and Howard.
The Southern Conference group will feature three full SoCon members in Furman, Mercer and Wofford, plus former ASUN affiliate members Central Michigan, Delaware State and Detroit Mercy.
The Owls begin conference play at Detroit on Thursday, March 29.
The four home ASUN games for the Owls are Wofford, Furman, Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion.
KSU finishes the regular season with three straight games on the road against Jacksonville, Stetson and Howard.
