KENNESAW, Ga. – The Department of Athletics, in conjunction with The Owls Fund, will Ignite the Fight this #GivingTuesday! Started in 2012, the #GivingTuesday movement reflects the values of the generosity associated with the holiday season. Each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (Nov. 28), millions come together to support the National Day of Giving.
One of the easiest ways to get involved is by supporting a KSU student-athlete in need. The average cost of attendance per student-athlete is $25,775 – that includes tuition, books and room & board. The donations raised through The Owls Fund today will directly benefit student-athletes at Kennesaw State University.
Not only does The Owls Fund see #GivingTuesday as an opportunity for Kennesaw State to participate in a global philanthropic movement, but this year's 2017 Ignite the Fight theme hopes to share the mission behind The Owls Fund and emphasize the impact that contributions make on the everyday lives of Owl student-athletes.
Last year, the Owls were able to raise $20,126 to help offset scholarship costs of 350+ student-athletes at KSU with the support of Owls Fund donors. This year however, our goal is to raise that $25,775 to pay the full tuition for at least one student-athlete. Pledges or donations – regardless of size – do make an impact.
