United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team

KENNESAW, Ga. – Senior defender Abby Roth, who concluded an outstanding four-year career at Kennesaw State this fall, added to her list of accolades when she was named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division I Women's All-Southeast Region Team, it was announced by the organization on Wednesday (Nov. 29).

The second team all-region selection by the coaches marks the highest accolade a KSU women's soccer player has received from the organization since the program began competing at the NCAA Division I level in 2005. Laura Tucker was a first team all-region honoree by Soccer Buzz in 2005, while Katrina Hirsch (2005) and Rachel Baer (2008) earned third team recognition by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), now known as the United Soccer Coaches.

"Being selected to the Southeast All-Region Team is a tremendous honor for Abby.  It's a testament to her hard work on and off the field, and the leadership and poise she displayed all year," head coach Benji Walton said.  "To be recognized as not only one of the best in your conference but also to be included with the top players from the SEC and American Athletic Conference is truly remarkable. I am proud of her and our entire team for this honor."

Roth earned first team All-ASUN Conference accolades and was selected to the conference's all-academic team after helping the Owls to an 8-7-4 overall record and appearance in the ASUN Championship semifinals.

During her four-year career, Roth twice earned ASUN All-Conference honors and all-academic accolades, and was named to the 2014 ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team.
