Quotable
Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Andy Eggerth's Thoughts on the First Day of the ASUN Championship
" I'm very pleased with the women's performance today! To lead by 60 points heading into day 2 is obviously a very strong position but we can't ease up.
"
Jordan Gray attempted to single-handedly win the meet for us today competing for 11 hours in 9 events, scoring 24 team points, breaking three ASUN records, and moving to 11th in the nation in the pentathlon. But she's not the only one. There weren't a lot of track events today but we advanced Owls in four of the eight positions for the 60m hurdles finals and five of the eight positions for the 60m dash finals tomorrow. Our women outstanding in the field events, claiming the top four places in the long jump, first, third, and fourth in the pole vault, and three of the six scoring places in the shot put.
"We need to start off strong tomorrow to keep the momentum rolling!"
Jordan Grays Thoughts on her pentathlon performance
"I was actually pretty pleased with this year's pentathlon results. I went into the meet wanting to break 4,000 points and get the school/conference record and I was able to do so. Long jump and high jump didn't go quite the way I wanted, but I was very happy with the PRs I got in shot put and hurdles. All the glory to God!"
