KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State senior catcher Courtney Sutter was honored for last weekend's impressive performance during the Interstate 75 Challenge by being named the ASUN Conference Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday (Feb. 27). It marks the first time in her career that she has been honored.
 
In five games versus Radford, Illinois and Omaha, the Owls' senior batted .700 (7-for-10), with seven runs scored, six extra base hits (two doubles, four home runs), walked six times, collected 12 RBIs and reached base in 13 of 16 plate appearances. She tallied 21 total bases, produced a 2.100 slugging percentage and .813 on-base percentage.
 
Sutter hit safely in all five games to extend her hitting streak to 10 games, homered in four of five contests, and recorded an RBI in each game, including three multiple-RBI games. After homering in the opener against Radford on Friday (Feb. 24), Sutter broke open the nightcap with a grand slam in the second inning.
 
The Marietta, Ga. native is batting .514 on the season, with team-leading totals of 14 runs scored, seven home runs and 18 RBIs. She currently boasts a 1.216 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage, while recording six multiple-hit and four multiple-RBI games.
 
The Owls are back in action on Wednesday (March 1) when they travel to Athens to take on No. 11 Georgia beginning at 6 p.m. (ET).
