KENNESAW, Ga. – Freshman of the Year Carlotta Gianolla picked up another honor as she was named to the ASUN Conference Women's Basketball Championship all-tournament team that was announced following Sunday's championship game between Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson.
 
The Kennesaw State forward was one of six individuals named all-tournament, joining Jordin Alexander (Florida Gulf Coast), Tytionia Adderly (Florida Gulf Coast), China Dow (Florida Gulf Coast), Brianti Saunders (Stetson), Brittney Chambers (Stetson) and Sherranda Reddick (Jacksonville). Dow was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after leading the Eagles to a 77-70 victory over Stetson to win the title and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
 
"I am very happy for Carlotta and Kennesaw State that we are represented on the ASUN All-Tournament Team," head coach Agnus Berenato said. "This is great for the future of our women's basketball program, and Carlotta will have a major impact in the upcoming season. The ASUN provides strong competition and we are pleased to have a freshman represent us."
 
Gianolla enjoyed an outstanding freshman campaign as she finished second on the team with 11.7 points a game and led the Owls with 6.3 rebounds a contest while helping Kennesaw State advance to the semifinals of the ASUN Women's Basketball Championship. She finished among the top 10 in the ASUN Conference in points and rebounds, while earning conference Newcomer of the Week three times.
