Kennesaw State Team Notes
• KSU is on a two-game winning streak after defeating Gardner Webb and Radford. It is the team's first winning streak of the 2017 season.
• The Owls continued their offensive surge as they scored over 20 goals for the second game in a row. They have scored at least goals in four straight halves.
• Kennesaw State finished the game with 31 points, which is the third most in a game all time. There were two previous occasions where KSU had 32 points and one of them was against Radford a season ago.
•
Connor Zophy facillitated the offense beautifully as she finished the game with three goals and six assists. The six assists broke her previous school record of five assists in a game and the nine points tied that all-time mark. The game before against Gardner Webb, Zophy led the team scoring seven goals against the Runnin' Bulldogs.
•
Sydney Farwick leads the team with 14 goals through four games this season. She totaled five for the Owls against Radford. She has scored five goals two games in a row.
• Farwick is also leading the way on draw controls. She has totaled 15 in the last two games as she set a new season-high for Kennesaw State with eight against Radford. The eight draw controls topped the team's previous season high of seven that she won against Gardner Webb.
• KSU has been spreading the ball around as at least four players have scored multiple goals in two straight games. Against Gardner Webb, the team had four players score multiple times and against Radford, the team had five players score multiple times.
• Two freshmen that have stepped up early in the season are
Izzy Palermo and
Emily Napierala. Palermo is third on the team with eight goals and Napierala is third on the team in points with 13 as she has scored seven goals and six assists.
• Since being at home, the Owls have been good on the draw winning 58-44. McGhee and Farwick have been key at winning that battle as the two seniors have combined to win 30 draw controls between the two of them.
• Assistant coach
Devon Schneider will be coaching against one of her former teammate Shannon Gilroy. The two played at Florida together.
