KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Kennesaw State football team is set to host its second Pro Day event on Friday, March 17. The invitation-only event is for former Owls, and other former college athletes, to be evaluated by scouts from National Football League teams in advance of the NFL Draft.
Those attending have been recommended by their college head coach and competed at the NCAA Division I FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels. Kennesaw State players who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility are able to participate. The Owls participating are
Chaston Bennett,
Dante Blackmon, and
Derrick Farrow.

The tryout is scheduled for 2 p.m. at The Perch at the KSU Sports and Entertainment Park. The event is closed to the general public.
Last year's first Kennesaw State Pro Day was a resounding success. The event received rave reviews from NFL personnel, including Gil Brandt, former longtime V.P. of the Dallas Cowboys and currently an NFL.com senior analyst.
"There were 16 teams present for Kennesaw State's pro day," said Brandt last year. "That is a credit to coach
Brian Bohannon, who also ran an off-the-charts, well-organized pro day, one of the better pro days people can remember going to."
The participants in KSU's Pro Day will be timed in the 40-yard dash, 20 and 60-yard shuttles, and three-cone drill before going through position work. Other measurable drills held during the day will include the bench press, broad jump and vertical jump. The prospects will also go through a flexibility test and have their height, weight, hand width, arm length and wing span measured by personnel from NFL teams.
