EATONTON, Ga. – An eagle on the par-5 18th hole concluded a 3-under par 69 by Christopher Guglielmo that has the Kennesaw State senior in second place after 36 holes of the Linger Longer Invitational that is being contested at the par-72, 7,073-yard Great Waters Golf Club at Lake Oconee.
 
After opening with a 6-under par 66 and grabbing a share of the first-round lead, Guglielmo followed that performance with five birdies and an eagle on Monday, helping him to a two-day total of 9-under par 135, three shots behind Georgia's Greyson Sigg, whose 7-under par 65 is the low round of the tournament, and places him atop the leaderboard at 12-under par 132.
 
Fourth-ranked Baylor continued its solid play, posting a 12-under par score of 276, giving the Bears a 36-hole total of 26-under par 550, and a 17-shot lead over No. 8 Virginia and Alabama, who are tied for second place at 10-under par 567. A total of six teams in the field are ranked in Golfstat's top 50.
 
Kennesaw State sits in seventh place with a 1-under par total of 575 following a second round score of 4-over par 292.
 
"Although the weather was ideal for scoring, the course setup was a little more difficult today and we weren't able to execute as well," head coach Bryant Odom said. "Unfortunately, we counted some more big numbers and just couldn't get much going. However, we made some birdies down the stretch, and we're hungry for a strong finish tomorrow so we can climb up the leaderboard and finish ahead of some the top programs that are in the field.
 
"It is good to see Chris in contention and have an opportunity for medalist honors with a good final round," Odom added. "His eagle on the 18th gives him momentum going into tomorrow."
 
Freshman Connor Coffee shot a 1-over par 73, while senior Teremoana Beacuousin and sophomore Jake Fendt recorded 3-over par scores of 75. Beaucousin (147, +3) is tied for 41st, while Fendt (148, +4) and Coffee (151, +7) are tied for 50th and 60th, respectively.
 
Sophomore Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres (153, +9) is tied 69th.
 
Final-round action is scheduled for Tuesday with Kennesaw State grouped with Michigan and Ohio State, and scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. (ET). Live scoring available at www.golfresults.com.
